HEC Special Equivalence Examination for Law Graduates HEC SEE LAW GAT 2024

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) is conducting the Special Equivalence Examination (HEC SEE LAW GAT 2024) for Law Graduates of Foreign Universities (HEC SEE Law Test) on July 14, 2024.

Introduction:

As directed by the Honorable Supreme Court, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) is holding a Special Equivalency Examination for Law Graduates of Foreign Universities (SEE-Law 2024). In order to apply to the Bar Council for enrollment as an advocate, law graduates from international universities or institutions recognized by the HEC/PBC must pass the Special Equivalency Examination before taking the Law Graduate Assessment Test (LAW-GAT).

 

Desiring law graduates with degrees from HEC/PBC-accredited overseas universities or institutes are encouraged to apply online. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a foreign university or other institution that HEC/PBC has acknowledged. The closing date to apply for the HEC SEE Law Test is June 30, 2024.

SEE-LAW-GAT Test Type:

There will only be multiple choice questions (MCQs) on the test.

Curriculum Of Special Equivalence Examination (SEE LAW)

It will take place in the five disciplines listed below:

  1. Constitution of Pakistan
  2. Qanoon-e-Shahdat
  3. Civil Procedure Code
  4. Specific Relief Act.
  5. Criminal Procedure Code

The test is tentatively scheduled for July 14, 2024. Any modifications to the test will be announced on www.hec.gov.pk and http://etc.hec.gov.pk.

Applicants who register using HEC online registration method will be able to receive their Roll Number Slip from http://www.hec.gov.pk and the same shall also be provided to their registered email address a week before the exam date. The enrolled applicants will receive an email or SMS with the examination date, time, and location.

It is mandatory for candidates to furnish a functional email address or mobile number during the online application process. On test day, you will need to bring a print copy of your roll number slip and your original CNIC to the examination center.

Detail Of Examination Center for SEE LAW GAT Test:

Both the federal and provincial capitals will host the test. Exam centers are included in the application form, and candidates can choose one from that list.
Once chosen, the test center cannot be altered.

Deadline date for Online Registration:

The last date for Online registration for HEC SEE LAW GAT 2024 is June 30, 2024.

Date of Examination:

The date of the HEC SEE Law Test is July 14, 2024.

How to Register for Special Equivalence Examination for Law Graduates?

  • Online Enrollment:
    • Go to http://etc.hec.gov.pk to register online, or click on the link below.
  • Help and Encouragement:
    • For assistance with registration, visit hec.gov.pk for online support.
    • For advice, visit the HEC Secretariat or get in touch with a regional HEC center.
  • Submitting an Application:
    • For the SEE-Law Test, only online SUBMITTED applications will be taken into account.
    • An online or ATM deposit of Rs. 5,000 must be made for the test. The account number is 01127900567403, the account title is Higher Education Commission, the bank is Habib Bank Limited, and the branch code is 0112.
  • Form for Bank Challan:
    • When registering for the test, download the bank challan form at http://etc.hec.gov.pk. Only the ETC online registration portal offers fee challans.
  • Upload Fee Challan:
    • When filling out the application on the ETC online registration site, upload the paid and scanned fee challan that has been properly stamped by the HBL Branch.
    • Address your CNIC number on the deposit slip’s reverse side.
  • Fee Specifics:
    • There are no refunds or transfers for the test fee.
  • Final Date:
    • June 30, 2024, is the deadline for registering online for SEE-Law 2024.

Other Conditions/Requirements:

To be eligible for the Special Equivalency Examination (SEE-Law), one must receive a score of at least 50%.
As per the Pakistan Bar Council’s rules and regulations, applicants must fulfill any additional requirements that may be necessary.
Candidates will be given up to three opportunities to pass the test. The exam will be held twice a year by HEC, on a quarterly basis as needed.
