A more diverse lineup for Samsung’s foldable series in 2025 is suggested by reports that the company is creating two versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which are identified by various codenames.
Early indications of Samsung’s upcoming foldables are already appearing, despite the Galaxy Z Fold 6 only being available for a few months. The codenames are “Q7” for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 regular model and “Q7M” for a new variation. The reason behind the “M” designation is still unknown, though.

South Korean publications suggest that Samsung may be investigating novel designs, like a foldable gadget with three panels and two hinges that resembles the newly released Huawei Mate XT Ultimate. It is unclear, nevertheless, whether the Q7M will use this “tri-fold” form or if it will have a different codename.
The Q7M model’s development seems to be proceeding concurrently with that of the standard Q7, indicating that neither version will be released until the summer of 2025.
Samsung’s iconic models, including as the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy A56, will probably be the main emphasis of the first half of the year. Later in the year, foldable versions will be released.
In South Korea, Samsung just unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition (SE), which has a 200MP camera, a smaller design, and no support for the S Pen.
It is unclear whether the Q7M variant will be available worldwide or only in particular markets, as this Galaxy Z Fold 6 model is only available in China and South Korea.
