Lahore – The Punjab government has started a new program to give residents free solar systems that won’t cost them anything.
Recently, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz declared that free solar panels will be given to homes that use fewer than 200 units of electricity each month. Installing solar panels can be financed interest-free for users of 200 to 500 units; users of more than 500 units can apply for loans that are 75% interest-free for the same reason.

The goal of the government program is to lessen reliance on conventional energy as grid prices have surged due to high levies.
