PM Shehbaz Sharif Launches Historic Solar Project for Balochistan Tube Wells

Islamabad – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced a new project to convert agricultural tube wells in Balochistan’s remote areas to solar energy. This project, in partnership with federal and provincial governments, aims to transform nearly 20,000 tube wells into solar power within three months.

The project is expected to cost PKR 55 billion in total, of which 70% would come from federal funding and 30% from the government of Balochistan. The national treasury is anticipated to save PKR 80 billion a year thanks to this program, which would have otherwise been lost owing to delinquent electricity payments.
