The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) introduced on Sunday that the men’s countrywide selection committee has been dissolved, with the T20 World Cup coming close quickly. This action is reflective of the board’s attempts to reorganize and potentially restructure the selection procedure in advance of the major tournament.
A cricket board representative announced in a statement that a new committee would be appointed shortly and that selections would be made based on performance and merit. The spokesperson declared The decisions made on the benefit by the brand new selection committee could be seen by all people.
Wahab Riaz led the countrywide selection committee, which additionally comprised Wasim Haider, Wajahatullah Wasti, and Tauseef Ahmed.
During a press conference held at the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final closing week, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi made guidelines about potential adjustments to the selection committee.
The chairman stated, “I think the selection committee should be given enough authority to be able to make these crucial decisions. I may be changing a few things in that committee.
The committee’s dissolution also occurred one day after Imad Wasim announced his return to the cricket ground and declared himself fit for the coming T20 World Cup. In November of last year Wasim declared his retirement from international cricket.
