Karachi: Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Gathers to Sight Zil Hajj Moon.

Karachi, June 7, 2024 – The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, is meeting at the Pakistan Meteorological Department office in Karachi to sight the Zil Hajj moon. Concurrent sessions are being held by provincial Ruet-e-Hilal committees across Pakistan.

The Saudi government announced on Thursday that the Zil Hajj crescent moon was sighted, confirming that Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on Sunday, June 16, 2024, in Saudi Arabia.

If the Zil Hajj moon is sighted in Pakistan today, Eid-ul-Adha will be observed on Monday, June 17, 2024. The committee’s decision will determine the exact date of the celebration in Pakistan, aligning it with the lunar calendar and traditional celebrations.
