Introduction about MEXT Scholarship:
The MEXT Teacher Training Scholarship is open to all primary and secondary school teachers employed by public and private educational institutions. The scholarship covers a training period of eighteen months. After the training period’s successful conclusion, certificates will be given out. The Monbukagakusho (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Government of Japan: MEXT) Scholarship Program is offering the Teacher Training scholarship.
Teachers may apply for the scholarship from anywhere in the country as long as they have worked as a teacher in a government or private school for at least five years. Candidates must be former teachers at primary, secondary, or teacher training schools (but not universities), and they must have graduated from universities or teacher training programs. The Japan Embassy is the place to submit the application.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Age Requirement: Maximum age limit is 35; born on or after April 2, 1988.
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree required from a university or teacher training institute.
- Experience: Applicants need at least 5 years of teaching experience by October 1, 2024.
- Ineligibility: In-service university faculty members are not eligible.
- Capability: Applicants must be intellectually and psychologically capable of spending 18 months in an international atmosphere with a culture different from Pakistan.
- Language: Willingness to learn Japanese is essential, as many courses are conducted only in Japanese.
- Language Training: Japanese language training is provided by the Japanese university in advance.
- Course Timing: Courses typically start in October.
