LESCO Clarifies | Green Meters Allowed, AMI Meters to Improve Accuracy

Lahore – Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has denied banning Green Electricity Meters. On Wednesday, a spokesperson confirmed that these meters are not prohibited.

To make things simpler for customers, the business will instead offer No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) meters.

The spokesman highlighted that AMI meters are intended to combat electricity theft and overbilling, enhancing charging accuracy and general service dependability.

In the past, several media sources had falsely claimed that LESCO had outlawed green meters for solar systems and advised customers to install AMI meters instead, which might have cost an extra Rs. 20,000.
