Latest New Zealand Post Study Work Visa Fees Effective from October 2024

If they are foreign students who have recently completed their studies in New Zealand, including citizens of Pakistan, they can apply for a Post Study Work visa. Depending on what they have studied it permits international students to remain and work in New Zealand for a maximum of three years. If you have achieved a degree level 7 certificate or higher you are eligible to work for any employer with a post-study work visa for international students. You have to have studied in New Zealand full-time for a minimum of thirty weeks.

Should you possess a qualification at level 7 or lower (a non-degree) you can still be eligible for a work visa following your studies. That being said the course you finished needs to satisfy the requirements for this visa. The position must be relevant to the candidate’s academic background. The entire time needed to earn the certificate had to be spent studying full-time in New Zealand. The candidates must provide many documents including proof of money a health certificate and an identity document.

Evidence of Funds:

The candidate needs to bring enough cash with them to New Zealand for their stay. According to the official statement, you must show that you have at least $5,000 when you apply. Examples of evidence are:
  • Statements from banks
  • Statements for credit cards
  • Drafts from banks
  • This applies to all applicants for a 1, 2 or 3-year post-study work visa.

Fee for New Zealand Work Visa After Study:

Starting on October 1, 2024 the New Zealand government will implement a new cost system for different types of visas. The new immigration charge of NZD1,350 is added to the starting point NZD320 cost for a Post Study Work visa making the total fee NZD1,670.
