Imran Khan, the originator of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), will draft a letter to IMF (International Monetary Fund) urging the organization to link talks with Pakistan to a scrutiny of the latest general elections 2024.
PTI Senator Ali Zafar said that the party founder would hand over the letter today while speaking to journalists in Rawalpindi on Thursday.

He emphasized that effective governance was a prerequisite outlined in the charters of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the European Union (EU), and various other organizations to function within the country or provide financial assistance.
According to the senator, democracy is an essential condition for effective governance, and the people’s mandate was stolen during the general elections on February 8. He went on to state that no institution would provide funding to a country if the elections were not conducted in a transparent and just manner.
Zafar suggested that Khan would urge through a letter to IMF to ensure certain prerequisites are fulfilled, such as conducting an examination of electoral districts affected by tampering and postponing any talks with Pakistan until the electoral review is concluded.

It is notable to emphasize that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf issued a declaration underscoring the importance of transparent and impartial elections for the effective execution of the Fund-backed initiative, a sentiment acknowledged by the IMF in its Staff Report subsequent to the First Review within the $3 billion Stand-by Arrangement.
