England Sets World Record Against West Indies in 147 Years of Test Cricket History

Nottingham – On Thursday in Nottingham, West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and chose to field first against England in the second Test.

Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley opened the first innings for England but Crawley went back to the pavilion without scoring.

Ollie Pope and Ben Duckett then played with aggression, scoring 50 runs in just 4.2 overs.

In the 147-year history of Test cricket, this was the first occasion a side had scored 50 runs in less than 27 balls.

Before that in a 1994 Test match at The Oval against South Africa, England had set the record when they reached 50 runs in 4.3 overs.
