The implementation of new taxes after the approval of the budget for the financial year 2024–25 is expected to lead the federal government of Pakistan to raise petroleum prices during the second half of July 2024.
On 15th July, the government will update the cost of petrol and the new rates will take effect on 16th July.

Additionally, it raised the price of fuel and diesel beginning on July 1, 2024. The price of diesel increased by Rs 9.56 per liter and that of petrol by Rs 7.45 per liter.

Currently, a liter of petrol costs Rs265.61, while a liter of diesel costs Rs277.45.

Pakistan’s Expected New Fuel and Diesel Prices
It is expected that the federal government will increase the price of petrol by Rs7.68 per liter and diesel by Rs3.72 per liter.
