Lahore – 5 July 2024: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the schedule for the men’s 2024-25 home international cricket season. The national squad will play in the first ODI tri-series in twenty-one years as well as three Test series before the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025.

The season will kick off with Bangladesh playing two Tests in Rawalpindi (21-25 August) and Karachi (30 August-3 September). The season will wrap up with the ICC Champions Trophy final on 9 March.
Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has stressed the strategic significance of deciding on the home international cricket season plan for 2024–25 well in advance. Naqvi claims that the men’s cricket team management and the PCB event staff will have enough time to carefully plan and carry out their precise plans thanks to this early notification. The goal is to provide top-notch cricket series that demonstrate Pakistan’s strength as a leading cricketing nation and the professionalism of PCB.
In addition to trying to get local and international cricket fans interested, the detailed schedule release also hopes to motivate them to organize their trips to Pakistan. In addition to providing cricket enthusiasts with exciting matches, Naqvi thinks this project would boost travel by highlighting Pakistan’s breathtaking landscapes.
Naqvi emphasized the financial advantages in addition to raising Pakistan’s profile in the world of cricket. He wants to optimize earnings for further investments in infrastructure, player welfare, and the advancement of women’s cricket. The forthcoming series, which culminates in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and includes visits from five of the world’s best cricketing nations, highlights Pakistan’s crucial role in international cricket.
Chief Executive of the Bangladesh Cricket Board Nizam Uddin Chowdhury thanked them for the finalised schedule and underlined the importance of their tour as a component of the ICC World Test Championship. Najmul Hossain Shanto, the captain of Bangladesh, echoed the notion, predicting a difficult series in their homeland against Pakistan.
Richard Gould, CEO of the England and Wales Cricket Board, and Johnny Grave, CEO of Cricket West Indies, both expressed optimism about their teams’ impending travels to Pakistan, highlighting the series’ anticipated historical significance and spirit of competition.
