A No-Objection Certificate (NOC) for the acquisition of AMI meters for solar connections will now be issued by LESCO. After that, it will be the customer’s responsibility to buy these meters from the market following the NOC. However, customers will have to pay an extra Rs20,000 as a result of switching to AMI meters.
The price difference between AMI meters and green meters is twenty thousand rupees. It is anticipated that the installation of AMI meters will lessen problems like overbilling and electricity theft.
