The Pakistan Cricket Board PCB has scheduled the Champions Trophy match against India in Lahore on March 1 next year. However, the BCCI has not yet agreed to the tentative schedule, according to a senior ICC Board member.
The competition is scheduled to run from February 19 to March 9, with Reserve Day falling on March 10.
It is understood that PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi suggested a 15-match schedule with all of India’s games being held in Lahore for logistical and security concerns. Naqvi was invited to see the T20 World Cup final in Barbados.

PCB Verifies Date & Location of IND Vs PAK Champions Trophy:
The 15-match ICC Champions Trophy draft has been turned in by the PCB. Three in Karachi, five in Rawalpindi, and seven in Lahore an ICC Board member stated.
The first game will take place in Karachi, followed by semifinals in Rawalpindi and Karachi, and a final in Lahore. All India games are played in Lahore, including the semifinals if the team advances,” the insider continued.

India has been placed in Group A with Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand. Australia, South Africa, England, and Afghanistan make up Group B.
Recently, following the global body’s security team’s inspection of the venues and other arrangements, ICC head of events Chris Tetley met PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad.
The Asia Cup was the last competition that Pakistan hosted in 2023. It was a “Hybrid Model” competition, with India playing its matches in Sri Lanka because the government would not allow the players to cross the border.
The source further stated that all board chairmen of the participating nations in the ICC Champions Trophy, except BCCI, have assured him of their full support. However, BCCI will confer with its government and provide updates to the ICC.
In contrast to government policy, the ICC cannot compel any Board to act against its will, and it will be interesting to observe when the BCCI makes a final decision in this regard.
