PIA Launches First Pre Hajj Flight to Madinah from Karachi

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) launched its first pre Hajj flight to Madinah from Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.

Amanullah Qureshi the chief operating officer of Pakistan International Airlines and other senior personnel waved off the airline’s first pre-Hajj aircraft from Jinnah International Airport.

At around 3:30 am on Saturday the first pre-Hajj flight operated by Pakistan International Airlines (PK743) left Karachi Jinnah International Airport for Madinah. Before leaving the airport Hajj travelers were garlanded.

The Chief Operating Officer greeted the pilgrims on their departure for the Hajj and assured them that, like the Umrah operation, PIA’s Hajj operation would be completed. He promised that pilgrims would always be able to get assistance from PIA workers.

Qureshi told the pilgrims, “We are grateful to you for giving preference to PIA for Hajj travel.”

Additionally, PIA District Manager Karachi Umar Khan congratulated the Hajj travelers and expressed gratitude for selecting PIA to fly to Saudi Arabia for their trip.

On the occasion, Javed Pechuho the manager of the airport was joined by other officials.

A representative for PIA said the National Airline will fly more than 34,000 pilgrims from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia for the Haj.

The official Hajj program is expected to bring over 19,000 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, while 15,000 will arrive through 170 PIA Hajj flights from Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Sialkot, and Sukkur as part of the private Hajj scheme.
